CONFLICT OF INTEREST POLICY
PURPOSE:
Pilates + Studios prides itself on our team being the best instructors possible. We have worked hard and continue to work on our training documents and processes to ensure that all team members are able to provide fun, safe and innovative classes to our clients based on their needs and abilities. This process begins when new employees are onboarded and continues to occur for all employees on a one-on-one basis and in team training sessions. Pilates + Studios are committed to protecting the interests of our team members and has an expectation that our team members act in a way that also protects the needs of the business.
We are aware that the need for additional employment for our team exists as at times as we are in an industry where the normal full time employment hours don’t exist very regularly based on the services that we are providing. We strive to ensure our shifts are consistent and worthwhile for our team and pride ourselves on not cancelling classes based on low bookings so that our team is consistently able to earn their expected income.
As a business, we need to protect our intellectual property, internal confidential information such as our monthly reformer plans, employee portal information and training documents. This policy is in place to ensure that our business needs are protected. Our studios are based in regional areas with limited direct competitors so it may be a conflict of interest for a member of our team to be teaching pilates or fitness classes at any of these competitors.
AIM:
Pilates + Studios aims to continue to have transparent and open relationships with our team members to ensure that a conflict of interest situation not arise. It is our aim to not have a need to follow the disciplinary actions contained within this policy so educating our team members about this process and situations that may arise throughout their employment will help reduce a negative impact on any of our team members employment with the studio.
DEFINITION:

- An employee using their position in Pilates + Studios to their personal advantage
